John Carey
Chief Executive Officer | President
After receiving his first welder for Christmas at age thirteen, John literally began his love for metal working. Once he graduated from Danville Community College, where he studied electronics and precision machining, he worked in local industries until starting ACE Machine in 1994. Carey and his wife, Cindy, bought Jarrett Welding Co. in 2011 and continue to grow the business in various ways, such as adding CNC machining and powder coating services. They seek more opportunties to explore in the future.
Cindy Carey
Chief Financial Officer
Cindy was the secretary and treasurer for ACE Machine, the first business she started with her husband in 1994. After the acquisition of Jarrett Welding Co., her role has evolved into Chief Financial Officer. She has always been an integral part of their business and continues to help grow Jarrett Welding and Machine, Inc. through sound management practices and creative marketing efforts. As co-owner, she feels that it’s important to give back to the community by supporting a variety of local causes. Danville, VA, has always been her home, so she looks forward to many more years in business. The Carey’s have two sons.
Kathy Harville
Controller
Kathy Harville received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Secretarial Administration from Averett College. She has worked in secretarial and bookkeeping positions in various fields including an attorney’s office, a doctor’s office, an accounting firm and a secretarial position with Averett. Harville has been involved in bookkeeping with her husband’s general contracting business since 1978. She was hired by Jarrett Welding Co. in 2010 and has remained with the company during the transition to Jarrett Welding and Machine, Inc.
Tannisha Redd

Tannisha Redd serves as the secretary and bookkeeper for Jarrett. With a strong commitment to accuracy and efficiency, she plays a vital role in maintaining the company’s administrative operations and financial records. Known for her professionalism and reliability, Redd is a key part of the team, ensuring smooth day-to-day business functions while supporting both staff and customers.
Mike Carey
Fabrication Shop Manager
Mike Carey is a skilled draftsman and CAD technician at Jarrett, where he contributes to the precision design and fabrication process. As the nephew of co-owner John Carey, M. Carey brings both family dedication and technical expertise to the team. His work supports the company’s fabrication and production efforts through detailed drawings and accurate AutoCAD modeling, helping turn customer concepts into high-quality finished parts.
